Our phone lines are open from 08:15 to 18:00 on weekdays and during Saturday morning emergency clinic. Telephone lines are not open during early morning and evening appointment times.

Although the practice is open for appointments until 20:00 on certain days the main doors may be locked for staff safety reasons. An intercom system is available for patients who have face to face appointments at these times. Unfortunately, due to staffing levels, we are not able to offer other services during evening clinics.

Please note the telephone lines are closed between 13:00 – 14:00 on weekdays.

Enhanced Access

The Rycote Practice is part of Thame Primary Care Network in partnership with Morland House surgery in Wheatley and Chalgrove & Watlington surgeries. Together the practice in the PCN offer appointments from 07:30 to 20:00, Monday to Friday and on Saturdays. As part of this commitment, The Rycote Practice now opens from 07:30 on Wednesday and Thursday and until 20:00 on Tuesday. The practice also opens until 20:00 fortnightly on a Thursday and in intervening weeks offered eConsultations until 20:00 fortnightly on a Friday. All appointments must be pre-booked.

Out of Hours

NHS 111 operates a 24-hour nurse and health information service, providing confidential information on:

  • What do do if you are feeling ill
  • Particular health conditions
  • Local health services (e.g. doctors, dentists, late night opening pharmacies)
  • Self-help and support organisations

Please only use 111 when the practice is not open. It is much better to be seen or seek advice from the GP or nurse that knows you best rather than someone who does not know you.

eConsult

You can still seek advice and consult with the GP when the practice is closed using our eConsult service. This is available between 08:00 and 20:00 Monday to Friday. If you submit your query by midnight we will acknowledge your request on the next working day and allocate a member of the team to respond on an appropriate timescale.
