How Can I Find Out a Test Result?
We will always contact you if there is a cause for concern with a
result. However, if you wish you can contact the practice for a result.
Test results are available by telephoning the surgery between 3pm and
6pm Monday to Friday. The contact details are
here.
How long will I have to wait for a result?
We understand it can be a worrying time waiting for results to come
back. Please note that it can take up to 5 days for routine results to
come from the lab, and some special tests take longer.
Sometimes we may write to you to let you know a result is with us. The
letter will tell you what action to take.
How do I find out what a result means?
The reception team are not medically trained and cannot interpret
results for you. Usually the doctor will make a note of whether the
result is normal or needs no action - in this case the Receptionist you
speak to can tell you this.
If a result needs discussion with your GP the reception team can tell
you this as well. It does not necessarily mean it is serious if the
result needs discussion. You may decide to book an appointment or speak
to your GP on the telephone first.
