THE RYCOTE PRACTICE - AN NHS ORGANISATION
SEXUAL HEALTH SERVICES

If you have had an episode of unprotected intercourse and you are worried about the possibility of sexually transmitted disease, we recommend that you have some tests done to look for these. Many infections do not have any symptoms until long-lasting damage has been done.

All of the doctors and nurses at The Rycote Practice are trained to offer advice about sexual health and to take swabs to look for certain sexually transmitted infections.

However, we recommend that you attend a confidential sexual health clinic to discuss your concerns. The clinics are able to offer same-day results and treatment, and importantly will work with you to identify the people who may have given you the infection. This is known as contact tracing and is important in helping to stop the spread of infection.

Most sexual health clinics offer a drop-in services as well as booked appointments. Please click on a link below to find out more information and contact details.
