THE RYCOTE PRACTICE - AN NHS ORGANISATION
PATIENT INVOLVEMENT IN THE PRACTICE

Our priority as a practice is working in partnership with our patients. Via the satisfaction survey and our patient focus group, you can help us to make sure we are delivering for the needs of the local community in the best way possible. There is also information below on our Patient Fund.

Patient Focus Group

We would like to involve patients more in our decision making processes and would therefore like to invite patients registered at The Rycote Practice to sign up to our 'Patient Focus Group' database.

Patients who register their interest to be involved in a patient focus group may be contacted by the practice for their input on a particular issue or topic. For example, in a recent pilot of this scheme we invited a group of patients to come to the practice to discuss our repeat prescribing information leaflet. On this occasion we canvassed opinion through a meeting and several other patients commented via letter and over the telephone. The level of contact will be varied dependant on current issues and you can choose whether to contribute your thoughts or not dependant on your own circumstances at the time.

Examples of potential 'Patient Focus Group' contact might be:

giving feedback on the redesign of out New Patient Questionnaire
Involvement in reviewing appointment availability
Sharing thoughts on encouraging patients to attend for an annual asthma check-up
Assisting the promotion of services at the Practice

If you would like to be involved then please leave your details with reception staff.

Patient Fund

Occasionally the practice receives donations from patients which we use to purchase a variety of equipment for the benefit of all patients. For example, we have recently purchased an Event Monitor which measures heart rhythms and a number of oximeters which allow clinicians to measure oxygen levels in the blood.

Patient Satisfaction Survey

Some patients registered at this GP surgery will receive a questionnaire about their experiences of local health services. The survey covers issues that concern patients, such as access to care and satisfaction with treatment.

If you receive a questionnaire, please fill it in and send it back as soon as you can. It is really important that we hear your views, even if you have received a questionnaire like this before. Your response will help us to improve the services we provide for patients.
